Marian Shrine
Product Description:
As the craftsman behind Holy Hearth, I am truly proud to share this handcrafted Marian Shrine with you, a piece that I have poured my heart and devotion into, dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Our Lady full of grace. From my humble workshop in Perth, Western Australia, I draw inspiration from Sacred Scripture and our rich Catholic tradition, particularly Mary's exalted role as the Woman crowned with twelve stars in Revelation 12:1.
At the heart of this shrine is a layered depiction of Mary in prayer, which I have carefully rendered in light birchwood to stand out beautifully against the premium Jarrah timber frame. I choose Jarrah, our revered Western Australian hardwood (Eucalyptus marginata), for its deep redbrown hues that deepen and mature with age, its impressive density of around 820 kg per cubic metre, and its natural resistance to decay, termites, and borers. These qualities make each shrine a true heirloom, one I craft to endure for generations, mirroring the timeless legacy of Mary's intercession in the life of the Church.
The three-layer design, which I have meticulously assembled, features a halo of twelve stars around her head to symbolise her queenship, just as described in Revelation 12:1: "A woman... on her head a crown of twelve stars." The rose background I have incorporated evokes her purity and blessedness, as proclaimed in Luke 1:42: "Blessed are you among women."
On the base, I have inscribed "Gratia Plena," echoing the angelic greeting in Luke 1:28: "Hail, full of grace." At the top, the Marian monogram intertwined with the Holy Cross represents her profound union with her Son, Jesus Christ, seen in sacred moments like the Wedding at Cana (John 2:1-11) and at the foot of the Cross (John 19:26-27: "Behold, your mother").
Dimensions:
Measuring 13 cm tall, 7 cm wide, and 2 cm thick,
it is perfectly suited for your home altar or prayer corner, where it can inspire daily reflection.
Biblical Foundations of This Devotional:
Rooted in Scripture, the shrine's design invites reflection on Mary's role in salvation:
Genesis 3:15: Foretells the Woman's victory over sin, foundational to her purity.
Luke 1:26-38: The Annunciation, highlighting her grace-filled obedience in "Gratia Plena."
Luke 1:42-45: Affirms her blessedness, inspiring the rose symbolism.
John 19:26-27: Jesus entrusts her as mother to believers, reflected in the Cross monogram.
Acts 1:14: Shows her intercessory prayer with the Apostles, encouraging communal devotion.
These passages ground the shrine in God's Word, drawing all closer to Christ through Mary.
