As the craftsman at Holy Hearth, I have poured my devotion into creating this symbol of faith and courage, drawing from the call to protect the sacred as echoed in Psalm 144:1, "Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle." Fashioned from premium birch plywood in three sturdy layers, it features the iconic Jerusalem Cross in vibrant red upon a pristine white field, accompanied by a scrolled banner inscribed with the timeless Latin phrase "Deus Vult" – God wills it.
This shield is meticulously prepared in my Perth workshop: carefully sanded for a smooth finish, primed for lasting durability, painted with multiple coats for rich colour, and sealed with protective varnish to ensure it endures as an heirloom piece. Measuring a compact size ideal for wall display, it serves as a reminder of steadfast commitment to the Faith, perfect for a prayer space, home altar, or study.
Measuring 13 cm tall, 10 cm wide, and 9 mm thick, this piece is suited for intimate devotional settings and comes with a convenient hanging hook on the reverse, along with the Holy Hearth maker's mark.
